Dr Stephanie Ennis

Clinical Psychologist; HCPC

I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working across a variety of NHS mental and physical healthcare services. Throughout my career, I have supported adults and young people who face a broad range of psychological difficulties. My practice is rooted in empathy, warmth, and genuine collaboration, creating a non-judgemental and validating space where people feel heard, accepted, and supported.

I believe that every person’s story is unique, and my role is to help you explore the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that shape your current difficulties. Together, we will work towards increasing self-awareness, enhancing coping strategies, and helping you to live a life that is aligned with your personal values and goals.

Areas of Expertise

I have significant experience working with people experiencing a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and phobias

  • Depression and low mood

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Body image and eating difficulties

  • Weight management and emotional eating

  • Emotional regulation and self-criticism

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Neurodivergence, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD

A key area of my work involves supporting neurodivergent individuals. In my role within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), I contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and have developed skills in adapting therapy to suit diverse neurocognitive profiles. I aim to help neurodivergent clients gain self-understanding, manage emotions, and navigate their personal goals with compassion and authenticity.

Therapeutic Approaches

My clinical style is integrative and person-centred, allowing me to tailor therapy to each individual’s strengths, preferences, and goals. I draw upon a range of evidence-based therapeutic models, including:

I work holistically, acknowledging the interplay between mental, physical, and emotional health. Whether working with a single therapeutic model or integrating approaches, my focus is on empowering you to better understand yourself, improve your well-being, and take meaningful steps forward.

Professional Background & Qualifications

I have gained substantial experience working across the NHS and charitable settings, delivering one-to-one therapy, assessments, and multidisciplinary consultation. My background includes supporting people with a broad range of mental health presentations as well as working alongside health professionals to promote collaborative care. My special interest in weight management arose during my role in a specialist bariatric service, where I supported clients to explore the psychological aspects of their eating behaviours and make sustainable lifestyle changes.
