Dr Hanna Yousefzadeh
Clinical Psychologist; HCPC
I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience working across a range of NHS mental health services. My clinical practice is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and curiosity. I aim to provide a supportive and inclusive therapeutic space where individuals feel safe to explore their experiences and challenges at their own pace.
I bring a trauma-informed perspective to my work, meaning I consider the context of a person’s life and the impact of past experiences when understanding current difficulties. I strongly believe in drawing upon the knowledge you have about your own life and combining that with psychological theory and evidence-based approaches to guide the therapeutic process.
Areas of Expertise
Throughout my career, I have supported individuals with a variety of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:
Anxiety, worry, and panic
Low mood and depression
Stress and burnout
Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
Emotional dysregulation and self-criticism
Low self-esteem and identity-related concerns
Coping with life transitions or changes
Understanding and managing neurodiversity, including Autism and ADHD
A key area of my clinical interest is supporting neurodivergent individuals. I have expertise in working with people who identify with traits of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), including those who have received formal diagnoses. I aim to help individuals navigate emotional challenges, build self-understanding, and work towards goals that are meaningful to them.
Therapeutic Approaches
My approach to therapy is integrative and adaptive, ensuring that support is tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and strengths. I use a range of evidence-based models, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Understanding the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – Building skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Supporting individuals to move towards their values and manage difficult internal experiences.
Systemic Therapy – Exploring relationships, communication patterns, and family dynamics.
I also consider the broader physical, social, and cultural context in which each person’s difficulties have developed. My aim is to work in a way that is respectful, empowering, and mindful of neurodivergent needs and identities.
Professional Background & Qualifications
I have worked across various mental health services in the NHS, offering psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation. My roles have included supporting individuals with complex emotional needs and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) – University of East London
